Ram FC members find High School Soccer and Academic Success

Rams FC BU17 United team member Michael Casey #3 in  Red and Black

scores for his high school team St George's School

Rams FC would like to congratulate Michael Casey for his selection into the 93 ODP Player pool.  Michael is only one of 8 Rhode Island soccer players, boys and girls, from every eligible age group to be selected for a Region 1 player pool spot this past year.  This is quite an accomplishment as Region 1 cosists of 16 assosiations spaning from Virginia up to Maine and includes US citizens living overseas in Europe.  Michael is the second Rams FC member to garner such honors, as fellow Rams FC BU17 United teammate Kyle Ferreira was selected for the 93 ODP player pool last year.

Rams FC, family and friends are also proud of all those Rams who competed for their respective High School programs.  The following were honored as 1st, 2nd and 3rd Team All Division honors while Christopher Devine and Gaelen Oliver were also selected to the Rhode Island All Tournament Team.

Christopher Devine*

Kyle Ferreira

Joe Janiszewski

Parker Kuklinski

Tyler Oliveira

Gaelen Oliver*

Brandon Rodas

Drew Waddington

Rams FC is also very proud of Stephen Carpenter, Parker Kuklinski and Eric Sherman from the Rams FC BU17 United team for the 2009 All Academic Selections.

Rams FC is a firm believer in and supporter of the development of well rounded individual character traits.  We applaud each of these young men for their commitment and contributions to their respective school communities and for challenging themselves to strive for academic excellence.

Tuesdays January 26th through March 9th

Rams FC and URI Men's Soccer is proud to host our Winter Skills Academies every Tuesday night starting January 26th and ending March 9th, with the only exception being Feb 9th (no training).  This six week training program is open to all boys and girls who are interested in improving their individual soccer skills.  All training sessions are instructed by the University of Rhode Island Men's Soccer coaching staff with individual soccer skills demonstrated by the URI Soccer players and your own Academy players.

Rams FC and URI Men's Soccer will be offering separate session for specific groups.  Level 1 (Grade Pre-K to 2nd grade) will train from 6:00pm to 6:45pm and Level 2 (Grades 3 and up) will train from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.  The Academy coaches will take requests and make recommendations for players to switch levels after the first session.

The cost for Level 1 is $60 and the cost for Level 2 is $70.  The price has increased from our fall academy because we have added a sixth session.  Each soccer player should bring with them to every session:  their own size appropriate soccer ball, water for breaks and clean/dry shoes for use on the court.

To register for the Academy email Coach Rob Czlonka, URI Assistant Men's Soccer Coach and DOC of Rams FC at ramsfc@gmail.com to reserve a spot.  You must bring with you the complete registration form (SEE BELOW) and check as payment for the registration fee.  Registration will also be available on site the first two nights during check-in on a first come first serve basis as space permits.  Each group session will be limited to the first 40 field players and 10 goal keepers so it is strongly encouraged that families register early.

All Academy questions can be directed via email to Rob Czlonka.
